Things to Consider When Planning Your Exhibition

Posted on January 8th, 2009

There are always some things you will not even think about when taking on any kind of new venture. This is where experience is invaluable. When embarking on anything new, whether you are considering taking up a new sport, a trip to a different country, buying a new car you will always look to get some advice from those who know what they’re talking about, not to mention the pitfalls. Exhibiting is no different from any other new undertaking. Most unexpected surprises can be avoided if you just plan ahead properly (…….and preferably bring in the professionals.)

There are always those novice exhibitors who will try to save money by doing everything thing themselves which is commendable…….but not always successful and in our experience, certainly not cost effective in the long run.

As an exhibition company operating in the industry now for several years let us pass on some of our knowledge of exhibiting to you and give you a few pointers towards just a couple of things you may not have even thought of……

How to Plan Ahead For Your Exhibition

Posted on January 5th, 2009

If you want your company’s exhibition stand to be a success, you will need to plan ahead. There is absolutely no point in attending an exhibition, if your exhibition display does not attract attention and win you new customers. Exhibitions do not just happen, careful planning of every feature of the exhibition stand and display is needed for business success at a trade show.

Consider hiring an exhibition contractor who can provide expert advice in the best display design options available to make the most of your exhibition stand space. You need to plan for furniture, signage, graphics, visual displays, banners, pop up displays and product displays within the space of your exhibition stand.

To start planning for your exhibition stand to be a success, you need to make some key decisions. Answering the following questions will help you to ensure that your exhibition stand is a success:

  • What message do I want to give potential customers?
  • How many staff will be manning the stand?
  • What products does the company need to display?
  • Is room needed for product demonstration?
  • What signs are required?
  • Do potential customers need a space to sit to hear a demonstration or to have a discussion with staff?
  • How will the staff collect potential customer’s details (eg business card competition – you will need somewhere to store the business cards at the stand!)

Once you have made these key decisions, you will find the planning of the exhibition stand much easier. Good design will consider the furniture placement, product displays, visual displays and the use of banners and signs to attract people into the stand.
