Choosing Your Exhibition Furniture

Posted on May 11th, 2009

When selecting which exhibition furniture to hire, you should consider several factors: purpose, colour, image, branding, and size. You want exhibition furniture that adds impact to your exhibition stand, suits your purposes, and matches your company branding and image.

1 – Purpose
The purpose of your exhibition furniture is to attract attention, but it does also need to serve a practical purpose with your customers and staff. You need to decide whether you need seating for staff members or for customers. Decide on the purpose of your exhibition stand: is it to display your product or make sales? This can have an impact on the type of exhibition furniture you decide to hire.

If you are going to make sales of a large product during the exhibition, you may want a comfortable lounge chair and table set up for private discussions with genuine customers. You may want to have a large bench area to demonstrate or to display your products. You may need display cases, shelves, counter, or table to display your products. Ensure the exhibition furniture you hire is fit for the purpose you want it to achieve.

2 – Colour
Exhibition furniture can be the easiest way to attract attention of people walking past with bright, attractive colours. You can select exhibition furniture that highlights the colours of your company logo, or the product packaging.

You can hire exhibition furniture in almost any colour, so choose a colour that is likely to be eye-catching. Many small businesses who attend exhibitions neglect to make the exhibition furniture a colour feature within the exhibition stand, and therefore lose the opportunity to make an impact.

3 – Image
Your exhibition stand presents an image of your company to the public. The way you design your exhibition stand, and use the limited space will show people how professional your company is. Your corporate image is important and the exhibition furniture you choose to hire can present either a professional image or a hodgepodge of ill-planning and design that presents an image of a company that cannot achieve large projects.

Hiring exhibition furniture exactly designed for your exhibition stand presents a professional image, as opposed to a company that just ‘borrows’ furniture from the company board or conference rooms.

4 – Branding
Your exhibition stand can enhance your company branding. If you have a tri-colour logo, for instance, you may want to select exhibition furniture with a main colour that matches the main colour of your logo, and one of your other colours as a border or piping colour. You can accentuate a third colour from your company logo with alternate coloured exhibition shelves, or a simple display case with the colour inside.

5 – Size
Size is always a consideration for exhibition furniture. Space is at a premium in your limited exhibition stand, even if you choose a custom designed stand with more space available. The size of your exhibition furniture will make a difference to how much space you have available for staff to demonstrate your product to the customers. Exhibition furniture designers can design slimline, practical furniture that will not take up much space in your exhibition stand.

Your exhibition furniture can make your exhibition stand a success or a failure. Choose your furniture with care when you are designing your exhibition stand and make your exhibition furniture make an impact for your company.
