The end of 2013 will see the temporary closure of the Darling Harbour Exhibition & Convention Centre to fascilitate the $3 billion dollar rebuild of the entire waterside site due to open at the end of 2016. This does not mean that exhibitions and events will slow in Sydney in 2014, in fact it will be a busier year than usual with many new events taking place at the new site on Glebe Island.
The interim site of the New Sydney Exhibition Centre, which has been specifically designed for exhibitions, will host many of the large annual or biannual events Sydney has successfully hosted in the past including; Reed Gift Fairs in February 2014, ADX in April, DesignEx in May, The Craft & Quilt Fair in June, The International Spa & Beauty Expo, Sydney Boat Show & the Australasian Gaming Expo, all in August.
